Experience & CV · Vilnius, Lithuania
Gytis Markevičius
Senior / Lead Product Designer for complex, AI-powered web apps.
Summary
I like products that look simple on the surface and are anything but underneath: dense tables, multi-step workflows, and AI output people have to trust before they act on it. Untangling that is the part of the job I enjoy most, and it’s what I’ve done for the last nine years.
I’ve done it in SaaS, fintech, gov-tech, maritime and education, for teams in the US and Europe. Most of that time I’ve been embedded in a product team, owning the design end to end and working side by side with PMs and engineers.
Work history
Grouped the way my CV is: the freelance years sit under one independent line.
Independent Senior Product Designer
Through GytisMark Studio, Toptal (top 3%) and A.Team. Long-term, embedded engagements:

Before that: Graphic Designer, Upwork (2+ years). Branding and graphic design for freelance clients, while studying and after graduating.
Leadership
A hands-on lead: I still design every day.
How I work with a team
I share work early, before it’s polished, so engineers can flag what’s expensive while it’s still cheap to change. Handoff is a conversation, not a file: I document states and edge cases in Figma and stay close during the build.
I start from the problem and the data, not the screens. Together we decide what’s worth solving now, what can wait, and how we’ll know it worked.
Good critique is specific and tied to the goal, not to taste. I do my best work in teams that say what they think early and treat design decisions as shared.
